Reading overnight rollover without guessing

Clock-only input contains no calendar date. When the end reading is earlier than the start, selecting next-day rollover adds exactly 24 hours to the end before subtraction. Clearing that option treats the two readings as same-day values and requires an end that is not earlier. Equal readings return zero because they could describe either no elapsed time or one or more complete days; only dates can establish the latter. The control is an interpretation rule, not a hidden correction.

The 12-hour and 24-hour selectors alter entry and display, not elapsed time. Midnight is 12:00 AM or 00:00, while noon is 12:00 PM or 12:00. Converting each reading to seconds after midnight is a practical check: hour × 3,600 + minute × 60 + second. Once any declared rollover is applied, subtract the normalized start from the normalized end.
